The state government had introduced the ‘Krishak Bandhu’ (friends of farmers) scheme in January 2019 to provide financial assistance to all farmers for agricultural purposes and to provide social security to the farm families in the event of the untimely death of a cultivator.
"We have witnessed the class struggle. That's how our society grew. Recently, a survey result came out that Kerala has the highest minimum wages in the rural area. That was also a result of the Left struggle. The Sangh Parivar is trying to discard all such advancements," Vijayan said.
The SKM also said that the President of India has given his assent to the farm laws repeal bill passed by both Houses of Parliament and a gazette notification has been issued to give effect to the repeal.
Ranaut, who has been harshly critical of the farmers' movement and at times inflammatory, issued a lengthy message in Hindi on Instagram.
The week-long drive will be carried out by the Uttar Pradesh government in coordination with the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare and financial institutions, including commercial banks and regional rural banks.
During the course of the agitation, many farmers lost their lives to the harsh weather, alleged use of force by the state and violent attacks on farmers' lives notably the incident that happened in Lakhimpur Kheri where farmers were allegedly run over by fast moving vehicles.
Targeting PM Narendra Modi, Priyanka Gandhi said: "Do you know the cost of the aircraft used by him? It is Rs 8,000 crore. He comes here to give a speech but your income is not raised’.
Interacting with reporters in Delhi after the meeting, the chief minister said that he expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for recently appreciating the welfare schemes launched by the Haryana Government.
“Unless a law to bring MSP is not passed, demands of the farmers will remain unfulfilled. At least 700 people have lost their lives due to wrong policies,” Malik said.
For nearly two years, the farmers, women and other sections of people in Amaravati have been continuing their protest. The farmer leader also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give a clear answer on the demand for a law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price (MSP) that he had "supported" when he was the chief minister
In a high level meeting of the ministers and officials at Tamil Nadu secretariat, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin directed the state agriculture minister and chief secretary to conduct a detailed study on the losses incurred by farmers, including the poultry and cattle farmers.
On Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is also the president of the Shiv Sena, had said, "The announcement of repealing the three farm laws underscores the power of a common man in the country. The Union government should hold talks and take other parties into confidence to avoid the afterthoughts and embarrassments like today."
All India Congress Committee General Secretary, K.C. Venugopal wrote a letter to all state governments on Friday, saying that after withdrawal of the three Union farm laws, 'Kisan Vijay Diwas' will be celebrated by the party across the country on Saturday.

In a statement issued after the announcement of the repeal of farm laws by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she also hoped that the government will shed its pride and arrogance and works towards the welfare of farmers.
Noting that it is the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, he said it was no occasion to blame anyone. "I have come to tell you that we have decided to repeal the three farm laws. In the upcoming Parliament session starting at the end of this month, we will complete the constitutional process to repeal the three farm laws," Modi said.
