Congress workers led by Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday chanted the name of Lord Ram some distance away from BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma's home here in Madhya Pradesh in protest against his statement asking people to break the knees of Congressmen.
The two-day meeting of the BJP's state unit begins here from Wednesday where one-to-one interaction with party MLAs will be held to discuss the feedback on the Centre and state's schemes. The meeting will be chaired by the national joint general secretary (organisation) Shiv Prakash and the state in-charge Murlidhar Rao. The state BJP president V.D. Sharma will also be present in the meeting.
The number of votes of backward and SC/ST fraternities in the state is very high and that is the primary reason why BJP is giving preference to them anddesignating them on ministerial posts.
Roy, who was elected from Kaliaganj on a BJP ticket in the April-May assembly poll in the presence of party secretary general Partha Chatterjee said he was not comfortable in the saffron camp.
'The scheme worth Rs 45,000 crore was halted and just Rs 250 crore was given to a scheme in Paithan taluka. Moreover, Jalyukt Shivar scheme is not being implemented in the region,' Prashant Bamb said.
'Today, India is heading towards a serious population boom but the resources are limited. There has to be a law to tackle the problem.', said the BJP MLA
